If you are buying or selling a home and need a radon test performed you can count on OnTrac Property Inspections to take care of it for you. Your inspector will contact you or your representative to schedule an appointment, drop off the testing equipment, let the test run for a minimum of 48 hours, pick up the testing equipment, submit the results to you, and answer any questions that you may have. You can also consult with your inspector about having a long term (91 - 365 days) test performed if you already own the property and just want to know what your radon levels are. Also, if the building has a radon mitigation system already installed your inspector can inspect that for you as well.
Save money by scheduling to have the radon testing equipment dropped off or picked up during your home inspection!

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE RADON IN MY HOME?
The only way to know for sure of how much radon is in your home is by having it tested. If you are purchasing a home it is highly recommended that you have a professional perform the test. The reason being is that most inspectors will use testing equipment that have tamper detection devices built into them, whereas the over the counter testing kits do not. Utilizing a testing device that does not have tamper detection in it is fine, but is it a risk that you are willing to take?
OnTrac Property Inspections uses both passive and active (with tamper detection) testing devices to perform its radon testing.
WHAT IF RADON IS FOUND IN MY HOME?
If it is 4.0 pCi/L or higher, you want to have it mitigated. For more information on radon testing, please give us a call, or refer to the details provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency below.
