MOLD / MOISTURE INTRUSION

Do You Think Your Home Has Dangerous Levels Of Mold?

MOLD SAMPLING / MOISTURE INTRUSION INSPECTIONS IN BOWIE, MD AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Mold can grow out of control in areas of a home that are prone to moisture. If left untreated, mold can lead to serious issues, including health problems. If you think that you have mold in your home you may want to have a certified  Indoor Air Quality inspector inspect for any visible signs of mold and take air or surface samples for lab analysis.

WHY IS MOLD GROWING IN MY HOME?

Chances are that you have a moisture issue in your home. This could be from a leak in a below grade foundation wall, leaking water line, or even high humidity levels in a room with poor air circulation. There are a lot of ways that moisture can enter your home. With the lack of air flow in the area moisture can sit for quite some time, and if there is organic material mold can grow. Hence the reason why mold growth underneath sinks with cabinets and unvented basement bathrooms with showers are so common.

WHY SHOULD I CHECK FOR MOLD / MOISTURE INTRUSION?

Even if you haven’t noticed a large patch of mold, it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your health.

Your inspector can help you:

  • Save hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dollars in remediation and repair costs

  • Discover any moisture related issues that may be making your home a conducive environment for mold growth

  • Avoid mold induced illnesses like allergic reactions and respiratory issues

HOW DO I GET RID OF MOLD?

Well, the first solution is to make sure that the moisture issue is fixed. Then, clean the area using the EPA recommended guidelines. If it seems like there is more mold than you can handle then your best solution would be to contact a professional mold remediation company.
